Psyllium is mainly used as a dietary fiber to relieve symptoms of constipation and mild diarrhea.
It can be used as an occasional food thickener.
Research has also revealed that psyllium lowers blood cholesterol levels in people affected by it, as well as lowers glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
